What is Thread-lifting?
Thread lifting, also known as the non-surgical facelift, is a revolutionary treatment for combating common signs of ageing. A series of threads are used to create a more youthful appearance by lifting areas of the face that are beginning to sag. These threads are made up of a material known as Polydioxanone – a well-established material used in the medical industry.
What does treatment involve?
The treatment process begins with a series of small injections that will numb the treatment area, before the threads are placed beneath your skin. Treatment is not usually painful, but you may feel a slight stinging sensation. For two weeks following treatment, we advise that you avoid certain beauty treatments and that you refrain from touching or rubbing the treatment area. Here at NU-U Clinics, we offer a free initial consultation that allows us to ensure you are comfortable before treatment by explaining the process and advising on the appropriate aftercare. Other than this, you can simply enjoy your positive results, which will be visible immediately after treatment!
Are the results of thread lifting permanent?
Thread lifting creates a lifting effect in the skin that can last for up to 6 months. It also encourages your body to produce new collagen fibres that can last up to 2 years. Collagen is an essential component of youthful looking skin that, unfortunately, tends to decline as we age. Many patients also choose to maximise results by opting for additional treatments such as Botox or dermal fillers. After treatment is completed, we will invite you to the clinic for a review appointment. We’ll use this opportunity to check if any adjustments needs to be made, and to answer any questions you may have.
