The term “dermal fillers” encompasses a wide range of products and includes treatments that lift, plump and rejuvenate the skin. Dermal fillers can be used to minimise the appearance of lines and wrinkles and to restore lost volume wherever needed giving a more contoured and youthful look. At NU-U Clinics in Maidenhead we use a high-quality brand of filler named Restylane® which is regarded by many as the finest product in the category. Its active ingredient is Hyaluronic Acid, a compound found naturally in your skin which helps to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin to create a more healthy and youthful appearance.

Dermal fillers can be used in various places. At NU-U Clinics in Maidenhead we increase cheek volume with cheek fillers, resolve sunken eyes, improve lip contours and volume with lip fillers, define jawlines, alter the shape of the chin and carry out non-surgical Rhinoplasty all with Dermal Fillers. Our experienced team of Doctors will discuss your specific requirements and advise you on what we think will achieve the best and most natural look. Dr Rai and Dr Punater are both highly regarded injectors, well known for focusing and achieving natural looking results. In addition to the standard injecting techniques we use the more advanced cannula techniques to minimise any skin bruising.
What to expect
We will apply an anaesthetic cream on to the injection site to ensure the treatment is as pain-free as possible. Then we measure anatomical points on your face to ensure everything is symmetrical. Depending on the area injected, the product is administered with the use of a fine needle or a cannula, which helps minimise swelling and bruising. These temporary fillers create subtle enhancements by filling hollows and deep lines to smooth them out. Results can be seen immediately and improve over time. As dermal fillers are contained in a gel matrix, this acts as a plumping cushion which supports the facial tissues and creates a lifting effect. Hyaluronic Acid holds up to 1000 times its own weight in water and it acts as a superb hydrator. This means you’ll experience an improved tone, texture and appearance to your skin in the weeks that follow.
After Care
You will see instant results after your Dermal Filler treatment in Maidenhead. Post treatment there may be some tenderness, redness and swelling to the site. This is very normal and will subside, usually within a few days. After treatment, we advise you to avoid touching or rubbing the area to ensure placement of the product is not manipulated. Any facial treatments, as well as saunas (or anything involving extreme temperatures) should be avoided for up to 2 weeks. You will be invited to attend a review appointment 3 weeks post-procedure. At this appointment, we will review the results and any adjustments will be made, if necessary.
FAQs
FAQ
Do dermal fillers hurt?
Modern fillers are designed to flow smoothly and have a local anaesthetic component within the gel which helps to minimise any discomfort. The needle used is very fine and most people find the treatment only mildly uncomfortable. Additionally, topical numbing creams can be used prior to the procedure to reduce an initial soreness.
How long do dermal fillers last?
This depends on the area being treated and the medical status of the person receiving the treatment. Whilst the results are not permanent, a typical duration for filler treatment would be approximately 6-9 months.
Am I eligible for this treatment?
Facial fillers can be used on most patients. The primary use is for the reduction of lines and wrinkles and for lip enhancement. They can also be used to provide definition and structure to the face. We do not normally treat pregnant or breast feeding patients with fillers even though there are no known risks.
