Thread-lifting or the “Non-Surgical Facelift” is one of the advancements in Facial Aesthetics that has revolutionised our ability to treat the aging process on the face without the invasive nature, extended recovery time and cost of a surgical face lift.
At NU-U Clinics in Maidenhead we use advanced PDO threads to lift areas of the face that are sagging and put them back in place leading to a more youthful appearance. This is all undertaken without the need to make a single cut with a scalpel in the skin. PDO stands for Polydioxanone and is a material that has been used in the medical world for decades. PDO threads are an absorbable suture which can stay in the skin for up to 6 months, however the lifting effect is long lasting as the treatment encourages the body to produce new collagen fibres which may last up to 2 years. It is a very safe procedure without the need for any real downtime. It is non-permanent but does produce long lasting results. The results give a natural look with improvement of areas that have changed with time.

Our Experts
Our Doctors trained in Thread-lifting at the world-renowned Professor Khanna Training Institute for Advanced Facial Aesthetics. Here they gained knowledge and experience of advanced thread-lifting techniques that are anatomically safe and cause virtually no downtime. Patients walk away after a thread-lift looking instantly better. At NU-U we use a brand of threads called V-soft. These are the only brands to have one small injection point with placement thus minimising skin trauma. The doctors can treat the lower face, mid-face and brows with threads. This treatment can define jawlines, resolve nasolabial folds, tighten jowls, put sunken cheeks back into place and also lift brows to ease brow ptosis (skin hanging over eyes).
What to expect
A thread-lift involves small injections into the skin to numb the treatment area and then the thread is placed under the skin. Results are visible immediately. As with many of our other treatments we use a cannula to avoid bruising. Many patients combine thread-lifting with other treatments such as Dermal fillers for a fuller facial rejuvenation. Our Doctors are happy to discuss all options available and this is undertaken at a pre-treatment consultation.
After Care
After having your treatment you are advised to avoid any rubbing of the area and to avoid any beauty treatments e.g. facial massage, saunas and extreme temperatures for up to 2 weeks. You will be invited to attend a review appointment 3 weeks later for any adjustments that may be necessary.
